Privacy policy

The scheme handles company officers' personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This page sets out what is collected, why, and how it is handled.

What is collected

Applications collect the applicant entity's ABN and registered details (from the Australian Business Register), contact details, the declared group (controlled entities and trading names), and current director names. Payment is processed by Stripe; card details never touch scheme infrastructure.

Director names — collection notice

Director names are collected solely to screen the applicant group against the published AEC Transparency Register, a public record. They are not published, not disclosed to third parties, and are handled under the scheme's privacy policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). [Working draft.] (v0.1, effective 2026-07-01)

This notice is shown, and its acceptance recorded, before director names are requested in the application.

What is published

The public register lists current members only: entity name, ABN, certification date and verification page. Declined applications are never published, and their data is purged after 12 months, retaining a minimal decision record. Removal from the register carries no public annotation.
