1. Scope
These terms govern use of this website, the public register, the verification pages and API, and the badge embed (the Site). By using the Site you accept these terms. Certified members are additionally bound by the Member Agreement; if there is any inconsistency for members, the Member Agreement prevails.
2. What the register and badge mean — please read
The register lists businesses whose certification under the Zero Political Funding Pledge is current. "Pledged & Screened" means the business has: (a) pledged not to make political donations (as defined in the Pledge); (b) declared that its group made no such donations in the 12 months before applying; and (c) had its declared group screened by us against the published AEC Transparency Register, with a human decision on the result.
It does not mean that the business's funding practices have been audited or guaranteed. The AEC register only shows what has been disclosed and published — screening cannot detect donations that are recent, below disclosure thresholds, outside the federal register, or undeclared, and the trailing 12-month position rests on the business's own declaration. Absence from the register means only that a business is not a current member of this voluntary scheme. It implies nothing about that business's political funding practices.
3. Permitted use of the register and API
3.1 You may search and view the register, verify a business's status, and link to verification pages.
3.2 You may use the verification API for reasonable, non-abusive volumes of status queries. You must not: scrape or bulk-harvest the register; republish it in whole or substantial part; present cached or stored status as current; use the data to compile lists of businesses that are absent from the register or to assert anything about non-members; or use the Site to harass, disparage or make representations about any business beyond the status the API actually returns.
3.3 We may rate-limit, suspend or revoke API access for misuse.
4. Badge embed
The badge may be displayed only by current members under the Badge and Mark Licence Terms. If you encounter a badge you believe is displayed without authority or contrary to the displayed status, report it to report@zeropoliticalfunding.com.au and we will investigate under our take-down process.
5. Intellectual property
The Site, scheme name, badge, marks and content are owned by or licensed to us. AEC Transparency Register data is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence; source: Australian Electoral Commission. Nothing in these terms grants you rights in our marks.
6. Acceptable use
You must not interfere with the Site's operation, attempt unauthorised access, submit false applications or reports, or introduce malicious code.
7. Liability and disclaimers
7.1 Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
7.2 Subject to 7.1: the Site and register are provided "as is"; we do not warrant that they are error-free or continuously available; and we exclude liability for loss arising from reliance on register status beyond what verification is stated to establish in clause 2 and the Public Register and Verification Disclaimer. Status is real-time and can change at any moment; always use the live verification page rather than a stored copy.
7.3 We are not responsible for the conduct of any listed business. Certification is not an endorsement of a business, its products or services.
8. Changes, governing law
We may update these terms by publishing a new version, which applies from publication. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts and the courts of the Commonwealth.
